About this medicine
Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet is an oral anti diabetic medicine, used to treat Type 2 diabetes mellitus.
This dual action formula, prescribed when lifestyle changes, such as diet, exercise, and previous treatment with a single oral anti diabetic medication, fail to control blood sugar levels effectively.
Type 2 diabetes can lead to serious complications, including cardiovascular disease such as heart attack and stroke, as well as kidney damage, nerve damage, vision problems, slow wound healing, etc.
Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet also plays an important role by enhancing the body's response to insulin or increasing the body's production of insulin, thereby reducing the risk of these potentially debilitating symptoms.
It is important to note that Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet is not for treating Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
How to use
Take Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet exactly as prescribed by your doctor, and follow the recommended dosage and schedule. Gluconorm G 0.5 should be swallowed as a whole without crushing, chewing, or breaking it, and ideally at the same time each day. Do not stop or alter the dose of Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet without consulting your doctor, as this may prevent you from achieving the desired outcome. Ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any administration procedure you do not understand.
Possible Side Effects
Gluconorm G 0.5 Tablet may also cause some side effects, most of which do not require medical attention and typically go away as your body adapts to the medication. These may include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, constipation, vomiting and a metallic taste in the mouth. However, if these side effects persist, consult your doctor as soon as possible. Some of the side effects may also be serious and may need medical attention, such as hypoglycaemia, lactic acidosis, diarrhoea, bloating, abdominal pain, fatigue or pale skin and allergic reaction. Long-term use of this medicine can decrease vitamin B12 absorption, and can cause vitamin B12 deficiency.
